What We Offer
Our Pre-Rec classes are for children 18 months to 6 years of age. Beyond gymnastics, we focus on developing your young athlete's coordination, sensory and spacial awareness, fitness, body mechanics, and social skills; all in a fun, safe, and exciting environment. In the process, we'll make sure your child touches and experiences all the Olympic events - no guarantees on the actual Olympics.

Why San Diego UNITED
Elite Coaching – Our gymnastics coaching and athlete community is comprised of some of the best in San Diego. No matter if your child is on an Olympic path your child will be in qualified, expert, experienced hands.
Elite Facilities – Our facilities offer everything you need for the full gymnastics training experience, including: foam pits, tumbling tramps, multiple duplicate event stations, etc. This is a place where others gyms come to train on equipment they don’t have.
Community – The YMCA is where you go… not who you are. We strive to create a fun, exciting, camp-like environment where people want to be. We are family own and family operated. We strive to know who your kids are and who you are inside and outside of the gym. Here’s a few of the organizations that we work with: Woodward West, Rancho Santa Fe Community Center, Deleon Productions, Aerial Revolution, Mt. Carmel Highschool, Christian Home Schooling, Pkcali, SDParkour, Mira Mesa Cheer, Uncomfortably Fresh, Excel Cheer Academy, and the list grows every day.
Philosophy
All Pre-Recreational classes are based around age and mental, physical, emotional maturity level. A young child’s natural talent and gymnastics acumen is not used as a basis for the classes.
We do this because at this age, the mental, social, and emotional development of a child are as if not more important than physical ability. We keep class sizes small so that our Coaches can always adjust and challenge any child enrolled in the class.
